Hmmm, interesting post. I made some comments in Guild chat that I cut and pasted here. Not going to post in Drakkar as I'm not a "player in the know" and I'm sure someone will make light of my comments
[08:37] IronWorks: Finally finished Seva thread (saw the ticker link)... wow, I can't say scrapping NL is viable as ppl like myself paid for it and the gains/gear to be gained
[08:38] IronWorks: I'd say allow primals to gain in all lands, modify NL and expand other scenarios beyond what Flisk is planning
[08:39] IronWorks: imagine being told that a 70/34 has to go back to 55/30? What I don't get is why does the scrapping of NL automatically mean the loss of caps/gear?
[08:39] IronWorks: I think I'll post this.. too long
There is no way that this can be mended by removing all post level 50 and skill 30 gains... nor wipe gear/tiers etc from players making it as if NL never was (except for getting to 50/30). People paid for this, it's already bad enough that my thief cannot gain the skill/exp it used to.. yes, it's under 25/25 but I paid for 4 NL slots back when small crits could gain well. Kinda like RL cash for ingame gains within ToS . Lol, So much for RR'ing healer and attended spamming to regain to 12. Despite that, I accepted that. But I cannot accept losing NL knowing Brad will NOT refund what I paid... that would be wrong.
He needs to remove SOME tedium but imagine if you will that all player could get what they wanted faster and more easily... what would they then have to do then? Get to the endgame then what? Or go back uber to Nork/Aleria/Cob to gain nothing except gear for their babies or sell lairs. I've always had more fun growing a smaller crit than playing my biggest cause of the challenge of visible growth. My pally just FSMS's Ancients or MS's UD3 ad nauseum to gain a level a week yet I've haven't gained a level in 3 weeks out of boredom. I could literally be exp 50 in 13 weeks @ 22 hours a week of this non-stop or even faster in NL burn parties. Just to say, Hey, I'm level 50 .
A redesign of NL is needed, additions made to spice it up, new areas added to Cob and Aleria, removal of tp wipe on boat so Ments and F/Ms don't have to fear dp'ing there. The twig wipe? Bah, set new ones. With GH twigholders, use of freebiw accts to hold twigs for alt1 and being able to run practically anywhere, I don't see the problems. However tps are different.. 3 or 4 twigs one thing, 60 tps quite another.
1) I do feel factioning sucks.
2) My pally from Day1 has seen all forest crits as red and cannot kill enough bandits to fix that. All my other slots came in N/N and bandits/forest are grey, I can kill one then go kill the other and keep balance to fix it on thief and healer. It's either coming in g/g or being a pally that does this. A pain to keep fending of Forest Giants.
3) Once I attacked an icexanor which has a huge stun and died, dropping hally. Seeing it lingered, I sent thief after it.. grabbed hally then looked up to see it enter screen, see thru my liminv and stun thief, good thing I had dancers on. So now crits have self-defense flag set across accts like players that attack you? Why?

I also felt I am nowhere in NL and really don't have an accurate view to state an opinion in the drak forums. I do however feel that I was highly disappointed in NL. Either I had expected more, and compare it too much to the other scenarios. But I will say that I have hated it from the beginning. The little enjoyment I did get from it was skilling in SE town off the townees, that was taken away.
It is more effective for our huge Ment (Guild Leader) to solo sekora lairs for the guild, rather than the guild do them as a hunt together.
I feel that the borderlands of nl are extremely boring and as a barb I can barely kill anything. I have decided to play my barb when I feel like it in cob to xp/skill (which I'm still able to do) or just build my baby crits in the scenarios I love, Nork/Aleria/ and mostly Cob! I have no desire to get further in NL especially hearing that its no different the further you go.
I also think there should be an appropriate place in NL for the bigger players to coin. I don't see it as right that they have to come to Cob to coin because a. that takes spots away from the appropriate cob sized players and b. why shouldn't the nl spots have coining areas as well? I think it should definitely be revamped. I wouldn't want to lose the money I paid for it, and I wouldn't want to lose the little I have gained from it, merkon/lich robes, tiers, etc. I guess Brad makes the final decision and not much we can do about that.

Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!
Actually there is something we can do about it and that has a lot to do with the problems Brad is now facing.
If you are unhappy with the service you are getting, you leave. Yes sometimes that means taking a loss, but its in the hopes of something better somewhere else. Thats why the counts of folks online have been steadily dropping.
I've said it for a while now, one of Brad's biggest problems is poor customer service. This is the crux of a persistant online community. It isn't just a product you sell and then are done with like shelf games
